PratikYedek for manufacturing & workshops
A real scenario
A metal-fabrication company running CNC machines in Konya (anonymised reference: Factory-E, 14 employees) was sabotaged by a former employee in February 2025. The file server hosting CNC programs lost 840 G-code files, 220 customer drawing PDFs and the quality-control Excel archive to a deliberate deletion. RAID-1 was in place — the deletion hit both disks simultaneously.
Root cause: RAID is not a backup, only protection against hardware failure. Deliberate deletion affected both disks.
How PratikYedek solves it
- Desktop app on the file server —
CNC-Programs/,Customer-Drawings/,Quality-Control/,ERP-Dump/folders. - Versioned backups — Each snapshot keeps a separate version of every file; a deleted file can be restored 30+ days back.
- Immutable snapshot retention — 7 days of snapshots that nobody — including admins — can delete. If sabotage strikes, a clean snapshot saves the day.
- Triggered backup on CNC program changes — Snapshot the moment a G-code file is saved.
- Nightly ERP dump — SAP/Logo/Mikro/Netsis/Wolvox dumps taken at 02:00; PratikYedek backs them up at 02:15.
- Monthly restore drill — Restore a previous version of one customer drawing and diff with the current one.
KVKK + Industrial Property Law + TTK alignment
Industrial IP protection
CNC programs, manufacturing secrets and customer drawings can fall under industrial property rights (Law no. 6769). PratikYedek's end-to-end (zero-knowledge) encryption means even server administrators cannot read your files — top-tier IP/secret protection.
- TTK art. 82: Commercial books and documents must be kept 10 years → PratikYedek max retention is 10 years.
- Law no. 6769: For patents / utility models requiring notarised dated documents, the audit-log "snapshot timestamp" can serve as evidence (KVKK § 12 + digital signature chain).
- KVKK § 12 (Turkey's GDPR-equivalent): Employee PII (HR files) must be encrypted when backed up → AES-256-GCM.
Recommended plan
- Single workshop (1-5 employees): Professional (100 GB + 2FA + 30-day retention)
- Small factory (5-50 employees): Enterprise (500 GB + team + 10-year audit + IP allow-listing + SAML)
- Mid-size (50+ employees): Enterprise + storage add-on (CNC archives grow)
BYOS — your own storage?
For manufacturing, BYOS (Google Drive / OneDrive) is generally not recommended:
- Data leaves to Google/Microsoft servers (industrial secrets)
- KVKK § 9 cross-border transfer is hard to manage with your own contract
- A local NAS + PratikYedek cloud combination is safer
Recommended: PratikYedek hosted (Türkiye servers) + a second copy on an office NAS.
FAQ
Is SAP / Logo / Mikro / Netsis / Wolvox supported? All are backed up at the file/DB level. PratikYedek watches the ERP's nightly dump routine.
My CAD files (SolidWorks/AutoCAD) are large. Is storage enough? Content-addressed deduplication means small revisions of the same part only take up the delta. A typical 200 GB CAD archive uses 60-80 GB on PratikYedek.
A former employee is suing. Should I delete the drawings? No — the retention_locked flag prevents deletion. Once the case closes, the KVKK § 11/e deletion request can be processed.
What happens if the office closes? As long as your PratikYedek account is active, the data stays with the account. If the account is deleted: 30-day retention + irreversible deletion.
