Account deletion (KVKK § 11/e)
You can delete your PratikYedek account directly from the mobile app. The flow is identical to the desktop and web flows (single backend implementation).
KVKK § 11/e: Turkish data subjects have an unconditional right to request erasure. PratikYedek implements this as self-service: no support ticket, no waiting.
The three-step wizard
Step 1 — Reason (optional)
Pick a reason or skip. Reasons are anonymised and used only for product improvement. Skipping is fine and not counted against you.
Step 2 — Consequences
The app shows what will happen:
- All encrypted snapshots in the platform-hosted storage are scheduled for hard delete after the grace period.
- BYOS snapshots in your own Google Drive / OneDrive are NOT touched — you control them.
- All devices are signed out.
- All mukellef / customer records you created are deleted.
- The email can be reused for a brand new account after the grace period.
Step 3 — Confirmation
Type SİL (Turkish UI) or DELETE (English UI) and tap Confirm. A confirmation email is sent.
The 30-day grace period
After confirmation the account enters a 30-day grace period. During this period:
- You can sign in to cancel the deletion (one tap — restores everything).
- All your data is read-only — no new backups, no edits.
- A red banner reminds you of the remaining grace period on every page.
After day 30 the deletion is irreversible and runs as a background job within 24 hours.
What we keep
By Turkish law (VUK, TTK) we must retain the following even after deletion:
- Invoices (financial records) — 10 years
- KVKK audit log entries about your erasure request itself — 6 months
Everything else — keys, snapshots, devices, customer records — is destroyed.
Pronunciation note
KVKK is written KVKK everywhere in the UI. In spoken contexts (TTS narration, onboarding videos), it is pronounced kavka — the letter-by-letter reading is hard on screen readers and tiring on long flows. See feedback_kvkk_telaffuz.md.
